He was a famous theatre and opera director, filmmaker, author, comedian, humourist, TV presenter and more.  In short, he was a wit and raconteur, and also a respected intellectual and diplomat who also served as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and President of the World Federalist Movement.

Sir Peter Ustinov was multi-awarded, including Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards, and recipient of governmental honours from the UK, France, and Germany, among others.

To show significant contributions Sir Peter Ustinov made while serving as the Chancellor in 1992–2004, After his death, Durham University renamed its Graduate Society as Ustinov College.

Oprah Winfrey (Oprah Gail Winfrey) was born on  January 29, 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi.  She is an American television persoanlity – host, producer, and philanthropist.  Her multi- award winning self-titled talk show, has been the highest-rated program of its kind in history, and she also been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, and one of the most influential women in the world.

Winfrey was born into poverty to a teenage single mother, later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee.  She went through hardships during her childhood, including being raped at the age of nine and becoming pregnant at 14.  Sent to live with the man she calls her father, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news aged 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery got her transferred to the daytime talk show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, the rest is history. Winfrey launched her own production company.  She is best known with creating intimate confessional form of media communication. By mid 1990s,  her show focused more on literature, self-improvement and spirituality.  Although criticized for the open  confession culture as well as promoting controversial self-help fads, she is admired for overcoming adversity providing numerous aids to others. She was staunch supporter of Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic primary race.

Incidentally, Jim Henson’s alter ego, Kermit the Frog, is also left-handed.

She began her career on Broadway before going on television and film.  She passed away October 19, 2006.
