About Lefties and Lefthandedness
This site celebrates the lefties and left-handedness with a happy salute.
Left-handedness is one of my lifelong interests. Although I’ve only decided to formally start this blog April 2009, serious collection of information and research started as far back in my youth, with a plan of someday writing about the left-handers and left-handedness.
Through the years, it’s a common knowledge that tools & gadgets, or anything we get hold of, are geared for the comfort of the righties. No longer. In modern times, there have been producers of lefty goods and lefty specialty stores that cater mainly for the lefties or the southpaws – from golf accessories to scissors, and few more tools and gadgets.
Simply because manufacturing and construction tools such as drill presses, industrial slicers of meat and carpenters’ band saws, among others, are designed with the right-handers in mind, it’s but sensible to think that the risk to lefties when using these gadgets & tools can obviously be greater than our right-handed workmates. Right?
This site is all about lefties, southpaws, and left-handedness – famous lefties, ordinary lefties, lefties myths and tests, trivia, and lefty gadgets & tools that will make it easier for lefties to live and enjoy equal privileges in a right-handed world.
Sure, I’m sure, lefties have significant place in history – from the left-handed conquests of the mighty Alexander the Great to the present world leaders.
Composers? Sorry, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wasn’t a lefty but Ludwig van Beethoven was! Scientists? Isaac Newton and Marie Curie were left-handers, and yes, Albert Einstein was a leftie, too!
Did you know that President Barrack Obama is a leftie? So is ex-president Bill Clinton and George Bush, the father. Another Bill is a leftie, Bill Gates, the name synonymous to Microsoft.
To name a few more lefties ~ there are Michelangelo, Napoleon, Marilyn Monroe, John McEnroe.
Enough or I might run out of lefties to feature here.
This blog offers a lot of information, links about left-handedness, lefty tools & gadgets. As well, we also hope readers will enjoy along the way, as we share insights about the lefties and left-handedness.
By the way, I’m a leftie, too, and so was my father.
