Fred Astaire (May 10, 1899 – June 22, 1987), was born Frederick Austerlitz. He was was an American film and Broadway stage dancer, choreographer, singer and actor. He made numerous musical films, and particularly associated with Ginger Rogers, with who he made films.

Ginger Rogers (July 16, 1911 – April 25, 1995) was an American film and stage actress, dancer and singer.

She made a total of 73 films, and most popular for her role as Fred Astaire’s dancing partner as well as his romantic interest in their musical films.

Ginger Rogers  achieved success in a variety of film roles. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1940 for her performance in Kitty Foyle.
